Gov. Sanwo-Olu Commissions Two State-of-the-Art Schools in Olorunda LCDA, One in Badagry

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to quality education with the commissioning of two state-of-the-art school buildings in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Badagry. The newly inaugurated facilities include Ipara Junior College, Majiyagbe and State Junior High School, Ibereko, both under Olorunda LCDA in Badagry Local Government. Additionally, another modern school facility was commissioned at Thogli Community Grammar School, Badagry Local Government.

Representing the Governor at the event, the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, emphasized that these new school buildings would create a conducive learning environment, enhance digital literacy, and introduce more vocational training opportunities. He reiterated the Sanwo-Olu administration’s unwavering resolve to provide world-class education infrastructure across Lagos State.

“These new facilities underscore our commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or location, has access to quality education. With these additions, we are not only improving infrastructure but also equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world,” Hon. Ajigbotafe stated.

Similarly, Dr. Rotimi Fashola, Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Systems, stood in for Governor Sanwo-Olu at the commissioning of an 18-block classroom facility at Thogli Community Grammar School, Badagry. The project, he noted, was designed to reduce overcrowding, improve academic performance, and foster a more engaging learning environment.

The projects were executed under the Lagos State Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS), further demonstrating the government’s investment in modern educational infrastructure.

Community leaders, school administrators, and excited students lauded Governor Sanwo-Olu’s efforts, describing the initiative as a transformative step towards a brighter future for education in Badagry. The event concluded with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the Lagos State Government’s education reform agenda.
