Onilude 'Bows Out' as Chibuike Takes Over as Badagry Local Government Chairman After Thrilling Win in ISEF Competition

Ezelioha Chibuike has ascended to the coveted position of One-Day Chairman of Badagry Local Government after a resounding victory in the Isaac Sewanu Education Foundation (ISEF) Secondary School Spelling Competition. The keenly contested event, held on March 26, 2025, at Badagry Grammar School, saw top students from across Badagry Local Government, Badagry West LCDA, and Olorunda LCDA battle for linguistic supremacy.

Chibuike, a student of Iworo Ajido Senior College, showcased exceptional spelling prowess, edging out his closest rivals—Alohutude Gloria Semande of Government Senior College, who secured second place, and Joseph Yemisi Precious of Ascension College, who finished third. His victory not only earned him a ₦150,000 cash prize but also the prestigious opportunity to serve as the Local Government Chairman for a day.

The competition, organized to enhance language proficiency and promote academic excellence, was graced by key education stakeholders. Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu, represented by Mr. Femi Iroko, commended ISEF for its unwavering dedication to education, encouraging students to strive for greatness. Mrs. Ashaolu, Chairperson of ANCOPS Badagry Chapter, urged participants to leverage the competition to strengthen their command of English. Mrs. Sewede Pot-Balogun, Supervisor for Education in Badagry Local Government, reaffirmed the critical role of education in national progress.

In a call for further expansion, Semako Temitope Olayinka, Coordinator of English Teachers, Badagry Zone, advocated for a broader scope to accommodate more schools. Meanwhile, Jacob Waniyon Francis, Team Lead of ISEF, described the initiative as a breeding ground for academic excellence, fostering a competitive spirit among students.

ISEF, founded by Mr. Isaac Sewanu J. Isaac, has continued to champion educational advancement in Badagry, empowering young minds and shaping future leaders. With Chibuike now set to experience the responsibilities of governance, his triumph not only cements his place as a spelling champion but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring young leaders in Badagry.
