The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has discredited a purported timetable and guidelines circulating on social media for the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos State.

The viral document, which has generated widespread attention, outlines a supposed schedule for party primaries slated to occur between April 28 and May 28, 2025. However, LASIEC has dismissed the document as false and unauthorized.

In a statement released on Thursday, the commission clarified that it has not issued any official timetable or guidelines for the local government elections. LASIEC urged the public to disregard the circulated document and rely only on verified information from the commission’s official channels.

The denial comes amid growing anticipation for the local government elections, with political stakeholders and parties awaiting formal communication from LASIEC. The commission assured the public that accurate details of the electoral process would be released in due course.
