Gov. Sanwo-Olu Gives Update on Ongoing Oko Afo-Ilogbo Eremi-Pota Road Construction in Badagry

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has provided an update on the ongoing construction of the Oko Afo-Ilogbo Eremi-Pota road project in Olorunda Local Council Development Area in Badagry, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and boosting connectivity in Lagos State.

In a statement released via his official Facebook page, the Governor described the 12.88-kilometre stretch as a vital alternative route aimed at linking several communities within the Badagry Local Government Area.

“This road is not just an infrastructure project, it’s a crucial alternative route that will enhance connectivity for our communities within the Badagry Local Government Area,” Sanwo-Olu said.

According to the Governor, the road will feature a semi-rigid single carriageway, with an average width of 10 meters. It will also include two bridges to ensure smoother travel for residents and motorists.

The project, which cuts across communities such as Ilogbo Eremi, Gomajayi, Iyesi, Agunmo, Seje, Ipara, and Pota, is part of the administration’s wider THEMES+ agenda aimed at ensuring no part of the state is left behind in infrastructural development.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that construction work is “progressing steadily and on schedule,” and reassured residents of continued government focus on enhancing the quality of life across all regions of Lagos.

“As part of our THEMES+ Agenda, we are committed to improving our state’s infrastructure. I assure you that no part of Lagos will be overlooked,” he stated. “Together, we can achieve our vision of a greater Lagos for all of us.”

The Oko Afo-Ilogbo Eremi-Pota road project located at Olorunda Local Council Development Area is expected to not only ease transportation but also unlock economic potential in the area once completed.
