Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers who attempted to hijack a commercial tricycle, popularly known as Keke Marwa, at gunpoint along Layeni Ojo Road in the Ajegunle area of the state.

The suspects, identified as Azeez Anofi, 25, also known as “Stainless,” and Damilare Obadia, 25, were apprehended by officers from the Layeni Police Division during a swift operation.

A locally made pistol and an expended cartridge were recovered from the suspects at the scene. Preliminary investigations suggest the duo may be linked to a series of similar armed robbery incidents in the area.

Confirming the arrest, the Commissioner of Police, CP Owohunwa Jimoh, praised the prompt response of his men and urged residents to remain vigilant. He called on the public to report any suspicious movements or individuals to the nearest police station as part of ongoing efforts to rid Lagos of criminal elements.
