According to CityMood Badagry, the event, which was organized by Comrade Aladeotan David Sunday, the Vice Chairman of Lagos West Senatorial District, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), focused on fostering synergy, collaboration, and consistency in engaging the public space. Discussions also highlighted implementing impactful programs to uplift the youth in Badagry.
Speaking during the discourse, Mr. Augustine Kiki, one of the participants, emphasized the pivotal role of young people in nation-building. He remarked, "The youth constituency is a significant segment of our corporate existence, and we must continue to prioritize its consequential position." He further called for value-driven initiatives to enhance the contributions of young people to society.
The host, Hon. Setonji David, Deputy Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly and representative of Badagry Constituency II, was represented by his Media Aide, Mr. Posu Davies. Hon. David reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives, expressing hope that such engagements would drive sustainable development in the constituency.
The roundtable drew notable figures, including the three NYCN Coordinators in the Badagry Federation, past Coordinators, executive members, and council leaders.
Participants lauded the initiative, emphasizing its importance in fostering collaboration and building a solid framework for youth empowerment. They called for sustained efforts to ensure the implementation of resolutions from the discourse, particularly in creating platforms for young people to thrive and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
The event reinforced the critical role of youth-driven initiatives in shaping the future of Badagry and Nigeria at large.
