Hassan Mihode Hammed, one of the leading aspirant for the 2025 Badagry Local Government Chairmanship race, has demonstrated his commitment to community development by joining the Cleanup Badagry Initiative (CBI) as a youth volunteer. The group's inaugural cleanup exercise took place yesterday, December 14, at the historic Agbalata Market in Badagry.

Mr. Mihode, known for his progressive vision for the local government area, participated actively in the event alongside other volunteers, emphasizing the importance of environmental sanitation for the town’s tourism potential. Speaking at the event, Mihode commended the initiative and reiterated the significance of keeping Badagry clean, especially during the festive season when the town experiences an influx of visitors.

“Clean environment attracts tourists. Cleanup Badagry Initiative aligns with my vision for Badagry. It is crucial to maintain a clean environment, especially during the festive season that we are in, when visitors come to Badagry. They should see our community as clean and welcoming," he stated.

Mihode further noted, "Keeping Badagry clean, now and always, is a collective responsibility. This initiative aligns perfectly with my vision for our dear local government area. Thank you all for doing this."

The Cleanup Badagry Initiative is a youth-led volunteer group aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and community hygiene in Badagry. The exercise at Agbalata Market saw enthusiastic participation from residents and volunteers who cleared waste and sensitized traders on proper waste disposal practices.

As the chairmanship race gains momentum, Mihode’s active involvement in community projects such as the CBI underscores his commitment to grassroots development. His participation has drawn commendation from residents, who see his actions as a reflection of his vision for a cleaner, healthier, and tourism-driven Badagry.

The event marked a significant step in fostering environmental consciousness among Badagry's youth and residents, further solidifying the town’s readiness to leverage its historical and cultural heritage for tourism and economic growth.
