The cleanup, which commenced at 8:00 a.m., saw volunteers methodically cleaning different sections of the bustling market, ensuring an eco-friendly environment. The initiative is expected to inspire similar activities in other parts of Badagry.
Leaders Commend the Initiative
Hon. Ashade, an environmentalist, founder of Green Janitor, and chairmanship aspirant for Olorunda LCDA, praised the effort. “I’m thrilled to see this initiative take off so well. It’s a testament to the power of youth-driven community development,” he remarked.
Hon. Hassan Mihode, a leading contender for the chairmanship of Badagry Central Local Government Area, also applauded the participants. “This effort is timely, especially during the festive season when Badagry welcomes numerous visitors. A clean environment reflects our values and hospitality. Keeping Badagry clean is everyone’s responsibility, and this initiative aligns perfectly with my vision for our community,” Mihode stated.
Convener Expresses Gratitude
Mr. Enayon Dishu, the convener of the Cleanup Badagry Initiative, expressed his appreciation to the volunteers, saying:
“I could see the passion and dedication in everyone who participated today. This is just the beginning. We aim to expand this initiative to other LCDAs in Badagry before the year ends. Today’s success proves we can achieve it. Together, we can make Badagry great.”
Future Plans
The initiative’s leadership team, including Mr. Sedomo Ajisegiri and Balogun Feyisara, expressed optimism about the program’s future, emphasizing their commitment to fostering a cleaner and healthier Badagry.
