Mr. Fadipe made this appeal during the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of 120 youths trained under the **Badagry 1000 Tech Talents Project (B1000TTP)**, held yesterday at the Badagry Theatre. The initiative, spearheaded by Hon. Whingan, is aimed at equipping young people with skills in website development, data analysis, product design, and project management.
Lauding Whingan’s transformative efforts, Mr. Fadipe said: "Since assuming office, Hon. Sesi Whingan has demonstrated an unmatched commitment to the development of Badagry. His initiatives, such as the B1000TTP, are evidence of his vision for empowering the youth and fostering growth in our community. It is time for Badagry to break the second-term jinx at the National Assembly and set him on a path to becoming the first Lagos State governor from our constituency.”
The event was marked by a gesture of encouragement as Hon. Whingan presented brand-new HP laptops to 50 outstanding trainees from the program. The initiative, executed in collaboration with Codeverse Africa, underscores Whingan’s dedication to bridging the digital skills gap among youths in Badagry.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Sesi Whingan reiterated his commitment to the socio-economic development of Badagry, emphasizing the role of technology in shaping the future of the community.
Badagry has a history of political underrepresentation at the state level, with no indigene ever serving as governor of Lagos State. Mr. Fadipe’s call to action aims to galvanize support for Whingan to change this narrative, starting with a successful second term in the National Assembly.
As the 2027 general elections approach, the call for unity among Badagry constituents to back Hon. Whingan could redefine the region’s political future.
