Addressing the councillors at the Oba C.D. Akran Legislative Chamber, Hon. Onilude expressed his gratitude for the unwavering cooperation and support his administration has received over the years. Reflecting on his tenure, he remarked, “This will be the last time I will stand in this chamber to present a document of this nature. My profound gratitude goes to everyone who has been part of this administration from its inception. I thank you all for the cordial relationship I have enjoyed over the years.”
Reviewing the performance of the 2024 budget, Hon. Onilude announced a 74% achievement of the budget projection as of October 2024. He highlighted several completed and ongoing projects, including:
- New Administrative 'Legacy' Building
- Primary Health Center, Mogotho-Ajido
- Onilude Shopping Plaza at Agbalata International Market
- NULGE Secretariat and Modern Staff Toilets
- Remodeling of Badagry Town Hall (ongoing)
- Construction of Agric–Salu Road and Dansu–Cinema Road Projects (ongoing)
- Procurement of 500kVA transformers for Awhanjigoh and Ajara-Isalu communities
- Provision of official vehicles for traditional rulers in the local government area
- Free GCE and JAMB forms for 500 students
- Bursary awards for tertiary institution students in Badagry
- Agricultural incentives for local farmers
The Chairman emphasized that the 'Budget of Transitional Economy' reflects extensive consultations with key stakeholders and aligns with the Lagos State Government’s development agenda as well as the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Commending the Chairman’s leadership, the Leader of the House, Hon. Taofik Aremu Akindele, praised Hon. Onilude for his transformative achievements. “When you assumed office in 2017, many people underestimated you. But today, through your projects and interventions, you have proven yourself a true progressive,” Hon. Akindele noted.
The budget presentation was attended by key council officials, including Hon. Moses Gbetogo Opa (Secretary to the Council), Mrs. Abosede Mary Olusanya (Council Manager), Mr. Olugbenga Hunponu (Council Treasurer), Supervisors, Special Advisers, Councillors, and other dignitaries.
The 2025 budget marks the culmination of Hon. Onilude's administration, signaling a transitional period poised to solidify the developmental strides achieved under his leadership.
