In a move aimed at fostering development in Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Solomon Bonu Saanu, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Badagry Constituency I and Chairman of the House Committee on Arts, Tourism, and Culture, convened a strategic breakfast meeting with His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyekanmi Adekanmi Ilufemiloye Ajose Posii III, the Alapa of Egun Awori Kingdom, alongside chiefs and 34 Baales from the area.  

The meeting, held at the Alapa's palace, focused on critical issues affecting the community. Hon. Bonu highlighted several key areas of discussion. Efforts by the Lagos State Government to restore electricity in Badagry West were reviewed, emphasizing timelines and community expectations. The advocacy by Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan with the federal government for the rehabilitation of the Gbaji-Owode-Apa road was acknowledged as a significant step toward improving infrastructure and accessibility. The plan by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to construct the Apa Museum was also discussed, with the proposed museum expected to preserve Badagry's cultural heritage and boost tourism.

Additionally, the meeting underscored the importance of community security, calling on Baales and other leaders to work closely with local authorities to protect lives and property.

Hon. Bonu described the meeting as a productive engagement aimed at aligning traditional leadership with government initiatives for the collective progress of Badagry West.

He concluded by saying, “These discussions highlight the collective efforts to drive development and progress in Badagry West,” signaling a renewed commitment to addressing the pressing needs of the constituency.  

This meeting underscores the importance of collaboration between traditional institutions and government representatives in tackling local challenges and fostering sustainable development.
