Engr. Setonji David, representing Badagry Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been confirmed as the new Chief Whip of the 10th Assembly. This development follows the impeachment of the former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, and the subsequent reorganization of the House's leadership.  

Engr. David, who previously served as Deputy Chief Whip, assumes the position of Chief Whip in the latest composition of the House's Principal Officers. In a related development, the former Chief Whip has been elevated to the position of Deputy Speaker under the leadership of the newly elected Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda.  

Engr. Hon. Setonji David is a third term ranking member from Badagry. 

The announcement of Engr. David's new role was made public by Hon. Solomon Bonu Saanu, the representative of Badagry Constituency I in the Lagos State Assembly. The news has been met with widespread congratulations, particularly from the Badagry community, which now boasts significant representation in the Assembly's leadership.
