Kidnappers of Mrs. Odumosu Arrested

In a swift operation, the Lagos State CP Special Squad has apprehended two suspects linked to the recent kidnap of Mrs. Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu. Acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, the suspects—Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30—were arrested in the early hours of Friday, January 24, 2025, while attempting to flee Lagos State.  

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a four-member gang responsible for the abduction. Two of their accomplices had previously been neutralized in earlier operations. Items recovered from the suspects include ₦2,250,000, believed to be part of the ransom, two locally fabricated rifles, and 11 live cartridges.  

Commending the operatives for their swift and decisive action, IGP Egbetokun praised their professionalism and urged them to sustain the momentum in tackling crime across the country. The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and security while striving to reduce crime to the barest minimum.  

The Force called on citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to foster peace and security nationwide.
