Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development in Lagos State, is set to launch an innovative initiative aimed at supporting students in Badagry who aspire to gain admission into tertiary institutions. The program, which includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for JAMB applicants, seeks to distribute free 2025 JAMB forms to successful candidates while also providing additional support to top-performing students during their admission process, Badagry Today has learned exclusively.

Speaking about the initiative to Badagry Today, Mr. Wande Desmond Dephilosopher, Head of Education, office of the Commissioner, explained that the new approach aims to ensure that the most deserving applicants are selected to receive the forms. He noted that the initiative is designed to identify brilliant candidates who will ultimately bring pride to Badagry in the national examination.

His words:

“In previous editions, we organized lessons and CBT practice sessions. However, this year, applicants will sit for a CBT exam. Successful candidates will receive free JAMB forms, and those who excel in the JAMB exam will be further supported in their admission process. We want applicants who are not only prepared for the exams but also capable of performing excellently and making Badagry proud in the national examination,” he stated.

The program will cover applicants from the Badagry Local Government Area, Olorunda Local Council Development Area, and Badagry West LCDA. The CBT exam will be tailored to match students’ fields of study, ensuring relevance and fairness. Science students will be tested on Physics and Chemistry, Arts students on Economics and Government, and Commercial students on Economics and Commerce.

According to Dephilosopher, the date for the CBT exam will be announced soon, and applicants are expected to come prepared with their mobile phones, which will serve as the primary tool for the test.

“This initiative reflects Commissioner Ogunlende’s commitment to empowering youths in Badagry by creating opportunities for educational advancement,” Dephilosopher added.

Further details regarding registration and exam schedules will be communicated in due course. Students and parents have welcomed this initiative as a significant step toward reducing the financial burden of tertiary education preparation.
