The event, held at Hunwaji Apartment in Badagry town, served as a platform for deliberations on strategies to advance Badagry’s socio-economic growth and position it as a critical contributor to Lagos State and Nigeria’s development.
In his address, Honourable Layode, who holds the distinction of being one of the Lagos State Executive Members from Badagry, presented his scorecard as Commissioner for Home Affairs. He highlighted significant achievements in his portfolio, emphasizing initiatives that have directly impacted the residents of Lagos State, with a particular focus on Badagry.

“Today’s gathering is a testament to our collective commitment to the progress of Badagry and Lagos State. It is an opportunity to exchange ideas, reflect on our journey so far, and strategize on how to achieve greater heights for our community,” said Honourable Layode.
The event witnessed the presence of prominent APC leaders and stakeholders, including: HRM, Oba Dr. Oladele Kosoko, the Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom; Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu, Member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Badagry Constituency I; Chief Olatunde Joseph, the Afobaje of Ilogbo-Eremi Kingdom; Hon. J. A. Agoro, former Executive Secretary, Badagry West LCDA; Hon. Hontonyon Bangbose, former Member of the House of Representatives; Barr. Kappo Sunday Jogbenu, Commissioner, Lagos State Audit Service Commission; Elder Avigbe Joshua; Hon. Akin Ajayi, former Executive Secretary, Olorunda LCDA
The APC Chairmen from the three councils in Badagry were also in attendance, alongside other distinguished leaders and stakeholders.
Discussions centered on leveraging Badagry's strategic position as a prominent division in Lagos State and exploring avenues for infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and economic revitalization.
The gathering concluded with a renewed commitment by attendees to work collaboratively in driving Badagry's development agenda forward. Honourable Layode expressed his gratitude to the leaders for their unwavering support and urged them to remain steadfast in their service to the people.
