Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, Member of the House of Representatives representing Badagry Federal Constituency and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed board chairpersons and managing director from Lagos State. The appointments, made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reflect the President's trust in their competence and dedication to national service.  

The appointees include: Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, who was appointed as Board Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA); Mr. Kayode Opeifa, a former Lagos State Commissioner for Transport, now Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation; Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, as Board Chairman of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP); and Mr. Abdullahi Dayo Isreal, APC National Youth Leader, now Board Chairman of the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta.  

In his statement, Hon. Whingan lauded the appointees for their outstanding track records in public service and their steady commitment to the progress of the nation. He expressed confidence that their wealth of experience and expertise would contribute immensely to the success of the Tinubu administration's Renewed Hope Agenda.  

These appointments are a reflection of the exceptional capabilities of Lagosians and their contributions to national development. I am confident that Prof. Akinyemi, Mr. Opeifa, Senator Afikuyomi, and Mr. Dayo Israel will excel in their respective roles and deliver on the mandate entrusted to them by President Tinubu. I urge them to remain steadfast in their service to the country,” Hon. Whingan remarked.  

He further commended President Tinubu for recognizing the talents and leadership qualities inherent in Lagosians, reiterating his commitment to working with the appointees to ensure the collective progress of the nation..
