The meeting brought together representatives from key security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, and the Nigeria Police Force. Discussions centered on curbing illegal checkpoints and fostering economic growth along the crucial border route.
Stakeholders unanimously agreed to establish a joint task force comprising personnel from all security agencies to enforce compliance with the traditional four checkpoints: Seme, Gbaji, Apa and Agbara points
These checkpoints will be manned collectively to ensure enhanced security, combat crime effectively, and create a conducive environment for economic activities along the corridor.
The public is encouraged to report any concerns or complaints regarding the checkpoints via the following hotlines: 07088158606 and 09062011772
This initiative underscores the commitment of security agencies to restoring order and promoting synergy in border management for the benefit of the nation’s economy.
