In the new leadership arrangement following Obasa's removal, Engr. Setonji David, a ranking and third-term member, has been elevated to the position of Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He previously served as Deputy Chief Whip before the leadership changes. Additionally, Setonji has been appointed to the House Selection Committee, tasked with constituting the Assembly's various standing committees.
Hon. Solomon Bonu Saanu, a first-term member of the Assembly, has also made significant strides despite being new. Before the committees were dissolved, he served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Tourism, Arts, and Culture.
The close relationship between Hon. Bonu, Engr. Setonji, and the new Speaker has sparked hope among their constituents in Badagry, who anticipate that this connection will bring tangible benefits and enhanced development to the region.
