Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, provided details of the incident in a video posted on his X handle on Thursday. According to Edafe, Toju and his two friends were stopped by officers during a routine check. Their vehicle was searched, and when no incriminating items were found, they were allowed to continue their journey.
“To our greatest surprise, this suspect returned and claimed that, after the police search, his manhood had disappeared,” Edafe stated. “We keep hearing such stories, but we have never encountered one person whose manhood truly disappeared. This is why we insist that such claims must be verified medically and legally.”
Toju, recounting his experience, said he felt a strange sensation after the search. “When I left, I was feeling somehow, so I came back to explain how I was feeling,” he said. Upon returning to the police, he was taken to the station, where the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) ordered a medical examination.
The examination confirmed that his manhood was intact. Toju admitted he had panicked after observing changes in his body, which he later attributed to fear and anxiety. “I opened my trousers and checked, but I was scared because it appeared to be shrinking and very small. Later, I realised it was my panic that caused it,” he explained.
Expressing regret over his false accusation, Toju said, “I feel bad because I made a false accusation. I believe I will learn from this experience.”
The Delta State Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding professionalism during operations and urged citizens to avoid making baseless allegations that could harm the integrity of law enforcement agencies.
