Normalcy appears to be returning to the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA) following the impeachment of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa earlier this week.

In a bid to address the situation and chart a way forward, lawmakers reportedly held a closed-door meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Details of the discussion remain undisclosed, with insiders citing instructions to maintain confidentiality for now, report by The Nation says

Security arrangements within the Assembly have been adjusted, with key positions witnessing personnel changes. The mace, which was reportedly targeted by thugs allegedly loyal to the former speaker during the leadership transition, has been secured in a safer location to prevent any disruptions.

Meanwhile, the absence of several appointees associated with Obasa has contributed to a subdued atmosphere within the Assembly complex. Legislative activities are expected to pick up as the incoming leadership provides further directives.

Lawmakers have assured that updates will be shared as the situation evolves, signaling a cautious but deliberate return to legislative order.
