Sources indicate that the tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning after Ibrahim checked into the hotel on Wednesday night with a woman identified as Maryam Abba, said to have traveled from Dutse, Jigawa State, at his invitation.
Eyewitness accounts suggest the pair engaged in a sexual encounter on Wednesday night, followed by another round early Thursday morning. Shortly after the second encounter, Maryam reportedly noticed that Ibrahim’s breathing became irregular, and he became unresponsive.
In a bid to revive him, Maryam is said to have sprinkled water on Ibrahim, but her efforts were unsuccessful. She raised an alarm, prompting the hotel manager, Danlami Palasa, to contact the police.
Officers who arrived at the scene found Ibrahim’s lifeless body in the room. He was subsequently taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death. His remains were deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for further examination.
Items reportedly recovered from the hotel room included a watermelon, a suspected aphrodisiac, Ibrahim’s phone charger, and his police identification card.
A police source from the Gwagwalada Division confirmed that Maryam had been arrested, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident was ongoing.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, for an official statement were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
