Nigerian music icon, Davido, has opened up about a heartfelt conversation with his wife, Chioma, before their marriage. The Afrobeat superstar shared the touching moment during an interview, shedding light on the condition Chioma laid down before agreeing to become his wife.  

According to Reliant News, Davido revealed that the conversation happened over one of Chioma's signature sumptuous meals. With a serene smile, Chioma addressed him in her distinct Igbo accent, a gesture he described as captivating.  

“She said to me, ‘Davim, I truly love you and will be glad to spend the rest of my life with you. But my problem is fear — the fear of you having too many children outside our marriage,’” Davido recounted.  

Chioma expressed her understanding of his status as an international star and the accompanying attention from women. However, her primary concern was the impact of his actions on their family.  

“She told me, ‘I have no problem with you being Davido, the king of 30BG. That’s who you are. But I fear you not using protection and the shame it would bring if you father another child outside our home. That would break me.’”  

The singer admitted that her words hit him deeply, prompting him to make a solemn promise. “I assured her that I would be the man she could trust, the one who wouldn’t break her heart.”  

According to Davido, Chioma’s vulnerability during the conversation, coupled with her tears, solidified his decision to honor her wishes and commit fully to their love.  

The couple, who have weathered challenges in the public eye, tied the knot in a private ceremony, cementing their bond as husband and wife. Davido's candid revelation has since sparked admiration for the couple's transparency and commitment to their relationship.
