The operation, conducted on January 17, led to the death of Turji’s son and several other terrorists. Troops also destroyed key logistics hubs and rescued multiple kidnapped hostages in a coordinated offensive along the Shinkafi, Kagara, Fakai, Moriki, Maiwa, and Chindo axis.
In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, it was revealed that Turji abandoned his son and fighters during the confrontation. The statement described his escape as “a gross act of cowardice.”
This development has sparked widespread reactions in the Arewa community, where the deaths of Turji’s son and loyalists were met with excitement and renewed hope.
In a related operation, troops dismantled another terrorist camp known as *Idi Mallam* in the Zango Kagara Forest. During the raid, three terrorists were neutralized, three suspected collaborators were arrested, and significant arms were recovered, including two machine guns and an AK-47 rifle. Security forces also rescued 61 rustled cattle and 44 sheep.
The military reiterated its commitment to eradicating terrorism, assuring citizens that ongoing operations will continue to ensure their safety and protection.
