The remains of the late Dr. Akinsanya Sunny Ajose, former Head of Service, esteemed member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), and apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Badagry Federation, arrived in Badagry today, marking the beginning of a solemn four-day funeral ceremony in his honor.

The funeral procession commenced at his family compound in Boekoh Quarters, where relatives, friends, and members of the community gathered to celebrate his life and pay their final respects to the revered statesman. The atmosphere was filled with solemnity as mourners reflected on his impactful legacy.

From Boekoh Quarters, the procession moved to his residence at Ajara Agamathen, a site of great political significance where Dr. Ajose once held crucial meetings and made decisions that shaped the political landscape. A large crowd of well-wishers and community members lined the streets, underscoring the deep respect and admiration he commanded throughout his lifetime.

The journey continued to the Badagry Local Government Secretariat, where his remains lay in state. Dignitaries, APC stalwarts, serving and past public office holders, members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), the National Youth Council of Nigeria, traditional rulers, clerics, and trade associations gathered to honor and pay their final tributes.

Dr. Ajose’s contributions to the development of Badagry and beyond remain a testament to his unwavering dedication to public service, leadership, and community development. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, as Badagry mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished sons.

The four-day funeral rites will continue with additional ceremonies to celebrate his life and lasting impact.
