According to a post on Facebook by Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi, a Mandate leader in Ojo Local Government and former Lagos State House of Assembly member, the high-profile gathering was attended by political heavyweights, including Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, Senator Anthony Adefuye, Rt. Hon. Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, Chief Muraina Taiwo, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Hon. Monsuru Owolabi, Hon. Kolawole Taiwo, Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi, and Hon. Johnson Babatunde.
At the heart of discussions was the need to preserve the unity, peace, and progress that Tinubu has championed in Lagos over the years. The leaders expressed deep concern over the recent crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly, emphasizing that actions taken without due consultation with the party’s hierarchy were unacceptable. They urged lawmakers to uphold party discipline and respect the leadership structure that has sustained the APC’s dominance in the state.
The meeting also condemned any form of tribal or ethnic politics, calling on all true progressives to remain committed to national unity and collective development. Asserting their unwavering loyalty to Tinubu, the leaders pledged to support, defend, and promote his policies and programs across all fronts.
Notably, the gathering resolved to embark on a massive mobilization campaign ahead of the next election cycle, ensuring that President Tinubu secures a second term in office. According to them, his administration has already recorded significant achievements, warranting continued support from party loyalists and Nigerians at large.
With this renewed declaration of solidarity, the Mandate Movement has sent a strong message of cohesion within the APC, reaffirming that Tinubu’s leadership remains the guiding force of Lagos politics.
