In a significant twist to the ongoing leadership crisis at the Lagos State House of Assembly, the security aides of the impeached Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, have reportedly been reinstated.

According to The Punch, a source close to Obasa's camp confirmed the development, stating, “They have restored all Obasa's security aides as of this morning.”

This development comes amid reports that security details assigned to the newly elected Speaker, Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda, have been withdrawn, fueling speculation about shifting power dynamics within the House.

The Assembly has been embroiled in a heated leadership struggle since Obasa's impeachment and Meranda’s subsequent election as Speaker. The crisis has drawn national attention, particularly in light of President Bola Tinubu's reported interest in the matter. As a key political figure in Lagos, Tinubu is believed to be closely monitoring the situation, which threatens to disrupt the state's political stability.

The alleged reinstatement of Obasa’s security aides raises fresh questions about the trajectory of the crisis. Observers are now speculating whether this signals a power shift or a recalibration of political alignments within the ruling party. As tensions persist, all eyes remain on key stakeholders and their next moves.
