Authored by award-winning journalist and Associate Editor of The Nation newspaper, Dr. Olatunji Ololade, the 200-page biography published by FabledMuse Publishers explores Ajose’s trajectory from his formative years to his towering influence in Lagos State. In his foreword, former Lagos State Governor and ex-Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, highlighted Ajose’s impact on his career and many others, describing him as a pivotal force in public service.
The event drew an array of distinguished guests, including First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro; Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr. Kayode Opeifa; Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro; and several key figures from the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), among them Alhaji Mutiu Are and APC Lagos State Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi. Federal lawmaker representing Badagry Federal Constituency, Hon. Sesi Whingan, was also present, alongside former Lagos Deputy Governor, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, and ex-Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Folashade Jaji.
The book launch served not only as a tribute but also as an inspiration for future generations. Chairman of the occasion, Mrs. Josephine Oluseyi Williams, described the book as a "compendium of achievements," noting that Ajose’s story was one that deserved to be remembered. "His dedication and hard work brought this book to life. It is more than just a biography—it is an enduring testament to his legacy," she remarked.
Speaking on behalf of the planning committee, historian and former Permanent Secretary of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr. Babatunde Olaide-Mesewaku, described Ajose as "an icon and a protégé of excellence," underscoring his influence in the public service. "This book chronicles an extraordinary life—a life of dedication, leadership, and service. Ajose was a colossus in public administration, and this biography will serve as a blueprint for future leaders," he stated.
Ajose’s contributions to governance and service were further echoed by Fashola’s representative, Oladimeji Sofowora, who acknowledged the late statesman’s guidance in his early days in Lagos public service. "He was extremely hardworking and passionate about service. The role he played in steering the office of the Chief of Staff under Governor Tinubu was invaluable," he said.
In his review of the book, former Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, emphasized the depth and meticulous nature of Ololade’s work, noting that Ajose’s journey was one of resilience and impact. "This book is a compelling read. It captures not just the sunny side of Ajose but also his trials, triumphs, and the profound mark he left in public service," he said.
The launch also saw the presence of Ajose’s family, led by Mama Arinola Sunny Ajose, alongside kinsmen from Badagry, who gathered to honor a man whose life was dedicated to service.
With a career that spanned decades in public administration, Ajose was renowned for his commitment to governance and human development.
