The Nigeria French Language Village (NFLV), Ajara-Badagry, has appointed Professor Samuel Oladipo Kolawole as its new Director and Chief Executive Officer. The announcement, made by the institution’s governing council on Thursday, February 6, 2025, followed a rigorous selection process involving multiple candidates.

Chairman of the governing council, Alhaji Labiru Musa Kafur, mni, confirmed the appointment, stating that the process was conducted transparently. “After the selection process, the interview was held yesterday with four candidates, and Prof. Kolawole emerged with the highest score,” he said while presenting the appointment letter. He expressed confidence in the new Director’s ability to lead the institution towards achieving its objectives.

In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Kolawole expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing the appointment as a long-cherished aspiration. “I thank God for making this dream a reality,” he said, acknowledging the council’s commitment to upholding excellence in the selection process.

Reflecting on his extensive academic career, he noted, “This year marks my 35th year in tertiary education. The selection process was highly competitive, and I deeply appreciate this trust placed in me.” He pledged to work closely with the governing council and the institution’s stakeholders to drive growth and development.

Prof. Kolawole’s appointment marks a new phase for the NFLV as the institution looks to strengthen its role in French language education and cultural exchange in Nigeria.
