The ceremony, presided over by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA), was marked by excitement and wide commendation from stakeholders.

The event attracted a distinguished audience, including Members of the Executive and Legislative arms of the Council, Senior Special Assistants, Management staff, Women Leaders, Market Men and Women, the Badagry Local Government Education Secretary, and a former Commissioner of the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps.

In his address, Hon. Olatunde emphasized that Hon. Ogunyemi’s appointment was a strategic move to enhance market operations within Olorunda LCDA. Citing her vast experience as a former legislator and Women Leader, he described her as the ideal choice for the role.

"Leadership is about service, commitment, and dedication. Hon. Modupe Ogunyemi has exemplified these qualities over the years. Her track record speaks for itself, and I have no doubt she will bring positive transformation to our markets," he stated.

Charging her to take on the responsibility with diligence, he added, "This is not just about filling a position but about making a real impact. I expect outstanding service, and I am confident she will deliver."

The appointment was met with widespread approval, particularly from market stakeholders who hailed it as both timely and well-deserved.

Also speaking at the event, the wife of the Council Chairman, Evangelist Oluwakemi Olatunde, lauded the choice of Hon. Ogunyemi, describing her as a capable and dedicated leader.

The Iyaloja of the LCDA, representing the market community, expressed strong confidence in the new appointee, while other dignitaries echoed similar sentiments, calling her "a round peg in a round hole."

In her acceptance speech, Hon. Modupe Ogunyemi expressed gratitude to the Chairman and the people of Olorunda LCDA for their trust in her leadership. She pledged to introduce policies that would enhance market administration and improve conditions for traders.
