The initiative, championed by Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, aims to prepare students for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination while also identifying outstanding candidates for further educational support.
Speaking with Badagry Today, Mr. Wande Desmond Dephilosopher, Head of Education at the Commissioner's office, emphasized that the CBT was designed to expose applicants to the JAMB examination format and ensure that only dedicated students benefit from the initiative.
"We had our CBT exams today, with about 100 applicants sitting for the test. The goal is to familiarize students with CBT, select serious candidates for the free JAMB forms, and identify exceptional ones who may qualify for additional support through the Commissioner's scholarship scheme," Mr. Wande explained.
He noted that the students responded positively, with many expressing relief after experiencing the CBT environment, which helped ease their concerns about the JAMB examination.

Hon. Ogunlende's educational intervention goes beyond distributing free JAMB forms. According to Mr. Wande, students who perform exceptionally in the UTME are awarded scholarships, while others receive financial grants to support their academic journey.
The CBT session, which took place at the RAK Foundation office in Ajara Vetho, Badagry, is a mandatory step for applicants seeking the free UTME registration. Those who meet the cut-off mark will proceed to the next stage, while top-performing candidates will be considered for scholarships and other educational benefits.
The initiative underscores Hon. Ogunlende's commitment to youth development and educational empowerment in Badagry, ensuring that bright students, regardless of their financial background, have a pathway to higher education.
