Following the success of the maiden edition, which was held at the Badagry Local Government Secretariat Chamber, the competition is set to return bigger and better. Last year’s event saw fashion enthusiasts from across Badagry showcase their creativity under time constraints, with winners receiving sewing machines and other essential fashion equipment. Many indigent youths trained in fashion design were also empowered with tools to advance their careers.
Miss Oluwatumininu Anthony, the Creative Director of Tea Apparel Fashion Academy, took to social media to generate excitement about the upcoming edition, promising an even grander experience.
“BAFAD Season 2 fashion competition, where fashion enthusiasts will sew on the spot, is super exciting!” she announced. “This unique format will challenge participants to showcase their creativity and skills under pressure, as they have a limited time to create an outfit from scratch.”
She further described the competition as a high-energy event where designers will race against time, surrounded by fabric, threads, and sewing machines, bringing unique perspectives to life.
“The live aspect of the competition will not only keep the audience engaged but also highlight the talent and hard work that goes into fashion design,” Miss Anthony added.
The upcoming event is expected to attract a wider audience and greater participation, further cementing Badagry’s status as a hub for emerging fashion designers.
As the competition gains momentum, organizers are encouraging fashion enthusiasts and stakeholders in the fashion industry to stay tuned for more details on participation and sponsorship opportunities.
