The financial aid, which ranges from ₦50,000 to ₦100,000, was presented to beneficiaries based on their courses. While general recipients received ₦50,000, students studying Law and Engineering were awarded ₦75,000, and those in Medicine received the highest amount of ₦100,000 each.
During the presentation, Hon. Gbenu emphasized the importance of responsible academic pursuits, urging students to remain focused and avoid negative influences such as cultism, examination malpractice, and social media distractions. "As your local government, we are giving you this token to encourage you in your studies. Stay focused and use this support wisely," he advised.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of Hon. Gbenu’s contributions to education. Olaotan Mulikat Olaide, representing the President of ESAN-LASU, presented him with an "Award of Appreciation," acknowledging his efforts in supporting students and facilitating the construction of their faculty pavilion through the influence of Comr. Godonu Sodiq.
Student leaders, including Boyon John, President of the National Association of Badagry West Students, and Amb. Jacob Waniyon Francis, Member of the Lagos State Youth Parliament and Chairman of the House Committee on Education, also commended the Chairman's unwavering commitment to educational development.
The event concluded with a closing prayer and light refreshments, marking yet another milestone in Badagry West LCDA’s drive to invest in the future of its youths through education.
