Badagry West Council Chief, Gbenu Empowers 200 Indigent Residents and People With Disabilities

In a bid to support the less privileged and enhance financial stability, Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph, Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has empowered 200 indigent residents and people with disabilities through a cash support initiative.

The empowerment program, held at Suntan Beach Hall, marked the fifth edition of the council’s ongoing efforts to uplift vulnerable residents. Addressing beneficiaries, Hon. Gbenu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to reducing financial hardship and urged recipients to invest the funds in productive ventures for long-term benefits.

Beyond the cash empowerment, the council chairman announced the imminent commissioning of several key projects, including a Customary Court, a New Administrative Building, a renovated Salvation Army Primary School, and the PHC Bakpo healthcare center.

"As leaders, our duty is to serve the people and implement initiatives that bring meaningful change. This empowerment is part of our broader vision to improve the lives of residents," Hon. Gbenu stated.

Commending the initiative, Hon. Bamgbose Joseph, Apex Leader of Badagry West, lauded the council chairman’s dedication to grassroots development and assured him of continued support from political leaders. Similarly, Hon. Ade Agoro, a respected community leader, praised the chairman’s remarkable performance and urged beneficiaries to use the financial assistance wisely.

The event witnessed a large turnout of community leaders, dignitaries, and representatives of various organizations, reflecting broad support for the initiative.

Expressing gratitude, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Samuel Adoku, highlighted the program’s impact, stating, "This cash empowerment will greatly help in meeting urgent needs and boosting our small businesses."

Badagry Parrot News reports that the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s vision for inclusive community development, reinforcing the council’s efforts to drive economic empowerment and social welfare in Badagry West.
