This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, following a crucial meeting held at the office of the Attorney General of Lagos State. The discussions focused on improving accessibility and engagement in child and youth-related matters, ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and their needs are addressed.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the Chairman of Odi-Olowo LCDA, representing the Conference 57 Chairmen and the Chair of Chair, as well as representatives from the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Local Government Service Commission, and the Ministry of Justice.
Hon. Ogunlende emphasized that the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to youth inclusion in governance and administration, ultimately fostering the well-being of young people in Lagos.
“This collaborative effort demonstrates our dedication to ensuring inclusivity and accessibility at the grassroots level. By creating these departments, we are strengthening the structures that support youth development and ensuring that their concerns are adequately addressed,” the commissioner stated.
The establishment of these departments aligns with the Lagos State Government’s broader vision of fostering sustainable youth engagement, empowerment, and participation in decision-making processes across the state.
