LASU Graduate’s Lifeless Body Discovered in Fugitive Boyfriend’s Apartment

Tragedy struck in the Meiran area of Lagos as the lifeless body of a Lagos State University (LASU) graduate, identified simply as Adija, was found in her boyfriend’s apartment. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, has since fled, leaving behind unanswered questions and a grieving family.

Sources confirmed that Adija had gone to visit her boyfriend on February 26 after he requested to see her. However, when she failed to return home and calls to her phone went unanswered, her concerned family decided to check on her at his residence—her last known destination.

Upon reaching the apartment, relatives found the door locked. Forced to break in, they were met with a harrowing sight—Adija’s lifeless body on the bed, covered with a duvet.

Accounts from neighbors suggest a troubling history between the couple. One witness reported that loud noises were heard from the apartment on the night of the incident, but no one intervened, as heated arguments had become a common occurrence.

“The couple had been together since her 100-level days, but their relationship was always toxic,” an Instagram user, @Eyeopener, revealed in a social media post detailing the incident. “She often spent weekdays at his place, only returning to her parents’ home in Ketu on weekends.”

Meanwhile, Adija’s family remains in mourning, with her mother—who raised her children as a single parent—devastated by the tragic loss. A family acquaintance disclosed that the fugitive boyfriend allegedly called Adija’s mother after the incident, claiming he was ready to end his own life.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed an active manhunt for the suspect. Spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin assured the public that efforts are underway to bring him to justice.

This incident comes amid growing concerns over domestic violence and toxic relationships, as similar cases continue to surface. Authorities are urging individuals to report early signs of abusive relationships before they escalate into fatal consequences.
