Tragedy struck in the Ilogbo Eremi community of Badagry, Lagos State, as a domestic dispute took a fatal turn, leading to the gruesome death of a 38-year-old woman. The suspect, identified as Peter Dike, allegedly stabbed his wife to death during a heated argument at their residence on Tuesday, March 19.

Eyewitnesses reported that the couple engaged in a serious altercation that quickly escalated into violence. In a fit of rage, Dike reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his wife multiple times, leaving her critically wounded. She succumbed to her injuries due to excessive blood loss before help could arrive.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended the suspect. The murder weapon has been recovered, and the victim’s body has been transferred to the morgue at the General Hospital, Badagry.

Meanwhile, the case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigation and prosecution. Authorities assure that justice will be served.
