Dr. Bonu, who recently earned a Ph.D. in Political Science, shared the update in a Facebook post, expressing his excitement over the development. He emphasized that the newly secured buses would help ease the long-standing transportation challenges faced by residents, ensuring a more efficient and accessible commuting experience.
"Today, we successfully secured three additional BRT buses, which will be integrated into the existing fleet at the Badagry corridor," he stated. "This enhancement will significantly improve the commuting experience for our residents, providing a safer, more efficient, and convenient transportation system."
Since last year, when the extension of BRT services to Badagry was announced, its operations have been rarely seen. Residents have struggled with inadequate—or, at times, nonexistent—BRT services, despite previous efforts to expand the Lagos State Government's transportation network to the area. The limited number of buses has likely contributed to irregular operations, leaving commuters frustrated. However, with this latest development, the Badagry corridor is expected to experience a more consistent and efficient transportation system.
Dr. Bonu reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development and pledged to push for more improvements in the transportation sector. He assured residents that the newly secured buses would commence operations immediately, bringing much-needed relief to the people of Badagry.
The announcement has been met with enthusiasm, as residents look forward to a more seamless and stress-free commuting experience along the Badagry corridor.
