In a major boost to youth empowerment and skills development, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, has empowered top-performing graduates as his sponsored trainees successfully completed their fashion training at two leading fashion academies in Badagry.

The first graduation ceremony took place at TEA Apparel Fashion Academy, where ten trainees, including three National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, completed an intensive three-month training program. Hon. Ogunlende, who sponsored their training, expressed his commitment to sustainable development and youth empowerment. He went further to empower the top three graduates, providing them with essential resources to advance their careers in the fashion industry.

Speaking at the event, Ogunlende commended the academy's founder, Oluwatumininu A.E., for her dedication to skill-building in the community. He emphasized the importance of supporting such transformative initiatives, urging the people of Badagry to embrace skill acquisition as a means of economic growth and self-reliance.

Shortly after, the Commissioner proceeded to the House of Mayrie Fashion Institute for another graduation ceremony, where he had sponsored young individuals in a more extensive 12-month fashion training program. Reflecting on the impact of the initiative, Ogunlende described the graduation as a heartwarming moment and a testament to his unwavering commitment to youth development.

“This initiative underscores my commitment to youth empowerment, and I urge leaders to prioritize investing in our youth, shaping a brighter future for generations to come,” he remarked.

Ogunlende’s efforts align with the Lagos State Government’s broader vision of equipping young people with practical skills to foster economic independence and reduce unemployment. His sponsorship and empowerment of graduates serve as an encouragement for more leaders and organizations to invest in skill acquisition programs that can transform lives and communities.
