GMT, under the leadership of its Director General, Hon. Bisi Yusuf, is a formidable pro-Tinubu political movement committed to grassroots mobilisation and the advancement of the Renewed Hope Agenda. With the 2027 general elections in view, the group is strategically positioning trusted allies to consolidate support across the country, especially in Lagos State.
Speaking after his inauguration, Hon. Bamgbose Joseph, a seasoned lawmaker and grassroots leader, pledged unwavering loyalty to the Tinubu cause. "I am deeply honoured by this appointment. I will deploy my experience and network across Badagry and beyond to galvanise support for President Tinubu’s re-election. This is a call to serve, and I will not take it lightly,” he stated.
Hon. Bamgbose’s political pedigree is well known. A former Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, two-term Lagos State Assemblyman, and former Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, he has built a solid reputation for driving community empowerment and development initiatives in the Badagry Division.
Hon. Bisi Yusuf, while addressing the gathering, expressed strong optimism about GMT’s mission. “Lagos will deliver over five million quality votes for President Tinubu. GMT is not just another political group — it is a people-powered movement rooted in unity and purpose,” he declared.
He further clarified the vision of the organisation: “We are not a political party. GMT is a unified voice from the grassroots, structured to bring President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to every home and community.”
Veteran politician and GAC chieftain, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, charged the new directors to take their roles seriously, describing GMT as a movement of purpose, not convenience. “You have been called to serve. Let this platform be a tool to drive the renewed hope we all believe in,” he urged.
As Director for Lagos-West II, Hon. Bamgbose will oversee a politically significant bloc covering the Badagry Division — including Ajeromi, Ifelodun, Ojo, Iba, Otto Awori, Olorunda, Badagry Central, and Badagry West. His appointment is expected to energize GMT’s activities across the axis.
Also speaking, Hon. Fagbamila Oluwadamilare, a member of the state GMT directorate, said Bamgbose’s emergence would give fresh momentum to the movement in Badagry. “He is the right man for the job. With his track record, we are confident that GMT’s message will reach every corner of Lagos-West II,” he said.
The high-profile ceremony drew a host of dignitaries, including Cardinal James Odunmbaku, Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Kola Peregrino, Prof. Fagbohun SAN, and Prof. Lawal Pedro SAN, all of whom lent their weight to what was seen as a strategic political milestone in the buildup to 2027.
