Avoseh, a top contender for the position, is the immediate past Commissioner at the Lagos State Civil Service Commission and a respected former two-term lawmaker at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Those who have withdrawn to throw their support behind Avoseh include Hon. Akin Ogunlana — who also serves as the coordinator of the Sustainable Hope Agenda group in Badagry LG — along with Hon. Julius Medeyonpon David, Hon. Abel Hunwi, Hon. Micheal Fagbeji and Barr. Semako Wande.
Sources confirmed that Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Olanrewaju Ibrahim Layode, brokered the deal during a closed-door meeting held today at his residence.
The meeting is still ongoing as at when this report is being published.
