A high sigh of relief has come over the people of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), as Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the release of funds to restore electricity to the long-neglected communities.

The announcement was made by Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, via a post on his official Facebook page.

"I'm thrilled to share the exciting news that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved funding to restore electricity to our communities in Badagry West," Hon. Bonu stated. He described the approval as a "significant milestone," particularly in light of the Governor’s recent push to enhance power supply across Lagos, including the signing of the Lagos State Electricity Bill 2024 into law.

According to Hon. Bonu, the contractor handling the project has commenced the necessary documentation to access the approved funds. Once this process is completed, physical work is expected to begin immediately on-site.

The lawmaker extended heartfelt appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu for what he called "proactive measures" aimed at bringing relief to residents of Badagry West. He also praised community members for their patience and resilience throughout the prolonged blackout period.

This move aligns with the current administration's broader commitment to infrastructure and utility upgrades across the state.
