In a statement issued on Tuesday by his media adviser, Sola Fasure, Aregbesola firmly denied the claims, describing them as false, baseless, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
“Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous report in the social media claiming that the former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is currently in France to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement read.
“We wish to categorically state that this is false and there is no truth to it absolutely. Ogbeni Aregbesola is presently in Abuja and has not travelled outside the shores of Nigeria.”
Fasure emphasized that the former minister is currently in the country and has no immediate plans to travel abroad, urging the public to disregard the rumour in its entirety.
The clarification comes after a viral report on Monday claimed Aregbesola had jetted off to Paris to hold a private meeting with President Tinubu, who is currently on a two-week vacation in the French capital.
