Kekere Jesu, 3 Other Gospel Artists Die in Fatal Accident

Tragedy struck on the Ikorodu-Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State as four Nigerian gospel ministers, including the renowned evangelist Ayodeji David, popularly known as Kekere Jesu, lost their lives in a fatal road crash.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the accident was caused by excessive speeding and poor visibility. The ministers’ vehicle collided with another in a multi-vehicle crash that reportedly claimed over 24 lives in total. All four gospel ministers died instantly at the scene.

Kekere Jesu, widely known for his passionate street evangelism and active presence on social media, was en route to a church program when the incident occurred. His untimely passing has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s Christian community.

Religious leaders and faithful across the country have expressed deep sorrow over the loss. The founder of the Christ Apostolic Church described the tragedy as "unimaginable," while urging believers to find solace in God’s sovereignty.

Tributes have flooded social media platforms, with many remembering the evangelists’ unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel—especially among youths and underserved communities.

The devastating loss has left families, congregations, and followers in mourning. Messages of comfort, scriptures, and prayers continue to circulate as the Christian community grapples with the sudden loss of these vibrant ministers. Authorities have renewed calls for cautious driving, emphasizing the risks of speeding, particularly in low-visibility conditions.
