Lagos Police Rescue 'Miracle', 'Success', 'Destiny', Others in Ijegun Baby Factory

In a major breakthrough, the Lagos State Police Command has dismantled a suspected baby factory operating in the Ijegun area, rescuing 10 victims including children named Miracle, Success, and Destiny.

The illegal facility was uncovered following a tip-off received on Saturday, prompting swift action by operatives of the Lagos Police. According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, officers stormed the location and arrested three suspects: 35-year-old Mariam Vincent, believed to be the ringleader, alongside Orie Ruth (23) and Ujunwa Ifeanyi (18).

During the raid, seven adult women and three children — identified as Destiny (7), Miracle (5), and Success (2) — were rescued. The adult victims include Precious (24), Magdalene (25), Adaobi (23), Princess (22), Ifeanyi (25), and Amaka (26). All are now receiving appropriate care and rehabilitation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were allegedly abducted from various parts of Lagos and held against their will in the baby factory.

“The suspects confessed to operating the facility by kidnapping women and children for exploitative purposes,” Hundeyin disclosed, assuring that the police remain committed to rooting out human trafficking rings across the state.

He added that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion.
