Leading chairmanship aspirant for the Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Prince Adeniyi Idris Balogun, has vowed to build on the transformative legacy of the outgoing council chairman, Hon. Samson Olatunde Folorunso (popularly known as Samola), if elected in the forthcoming local government elections.

Balogun made the declaration on Friday at his official campaign flag-off held at the bustling Freedom House, Iledu-Araromi. The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of party leaders, members, and supporters from all five wards of Olorunda, underscoring the widespread support for his ambition under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Balogun praised Samola’s eight-year tenure, describing it as a benchmark for grassroots development in Lagos State. He credited Samola with landmark projects such as the construction and rehabilitation of roads, establishment of schools and healthcare centres, as well as an enduring commitment to social welfare, which earned him the moniker “Mr. Project.”

“Samola’s legacy is visible across every corner of Olorunda,” Balogun declared. “It is on this foundation of excellence that I intend to consolidate and build further. That is why my campaign mantra is *Consolidation 2025*. We must not allow the tempo of development to slow down. Rather, we must accelerate it.”

Promising an all-inclusive government, Balogun pledged to focus on key areas including education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment. He emphasized that his administration would be particularly attentive to the needs of women, youths, and loyal party supporters, promising to create opportunities for employment and sustainable development.

“Our people deserve more,” he said. “And with your support, I will deliver more. We will not only continue the good works of Samola, but we will also introduce new initiatives that will uplift every segment of our community.”

The campaign venue was a sea of excitement as women, youths, and party faithful filled the Freedom House to capacity, chanting solidarity songs and waving APC flags. It was a powerful show of strength for Balogun’s aspiration and a clear signal that the people of Olorunda are ready for a continuity of progress.

With the elections approaching, Hon. Prince Adeniyi Balogun stands as a front-runner in the race, buoyed by his promise to deepen the gains of the past administration while steering Olorunda toward a more prosperous future.
